UnaCash Review 2026: SEC Status, Loan Costs, Privacy, and App-Store Risks

UnaCash Review 2026: SEC Status, Loan Costs, Privacy, and App-Store Risks

For Filipino borrowers searching “UnaCash review 2026,” the most important issue is no longer whether the app once offered ₱50,000 loans or how quickly an application could be approved. The first question is which UnaCash you are looking at – and which legal entity is actually offering the loan.

Historically, UnaCash was an online lending platform of Digido Finance Corp., which previously held SEC Registration No. CS202003056 and Certificate of Authority No. 1272. That status changed materially. The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission revoked Digido Finance’s corporate registration and financing authority in an order dated May 9, 2025. The SEC later issued a February 18, 2026 order directing the company to permanently halt financing operations after finding that it had continued financing activities following the earlier revocation.

Digido disputed the regulator’s position and said in March 2026 that it had filed an appeal and suspended relevant operations while the case was under review. I found no later public source, through September 18, 2026, showing that Digido’s former Certificate of Authority No. 1272 had been restored.

There is a second complication. A new iPhone app called “Unacash – online lending app” is currently listed in the Philippine App Store, but its provider is WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC., not Digido Finance Corp. Its advertised amounts, terms, contact details, website, and privacy disclosures are different from those of the historical Digido-operated UnaCash.

That makes identity verification – not an advertised interest rate – the key borrower-protection step in 2026.

Summary: The historical UnaCash platform was operated by Digido Finance Corp., whose corporate registration and financing authority were revoked by the SEC in May 2025; in February 2026 the SEC ordered Digido to permanently cease financing operations. Digido appealed and said operations were suspended, but I found no later public evidence that its former financing authority had been restored. Meanwhile, a newly listed iPhone app using the UnaCash/Unacash name identifies WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC. as its provider. Borrowers should therefore verify the exact legal lender named in the Disclosure Statement and its current regulatory authority before uploading an ID, sharing personal data, or accepting a loan.
Borrower question Current finding Why it matters
Who historically operated UnaCash? Digido Finance Corp. Brand name and legal lender should not be confused.
Was Digido previously authorized? Yes. Historical records show SEC Registration No. CS202003056 and CA No. 1272. Those historical credentials should not be treated as proof of current authority.
What happened to Digido’s authority? SEC revoked its corporate registration and financing authority in May 2025 and ordered it to permanently cease financing operations in February 2026. This fundamentally changes any 2026 “legitimacy” assessment.
Did Digido challenge the action? Yes. It reported filing an appeal and said relevant operations were suspended. The existence of an appeal should not be mistaken for restored lending authority.
Is there a UnaCash app today? An iPhone app with the name “Unacash” is listed under WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC. It should not automatically be assumed to be the former Digido product.
Historical UnaCash loan range Archived Google Play information advertised product loans up to ₱50,000 and separately listed new loans of ₱3,000 – ₱10,000. These are historical terms, not verified current Digido offers.
Historical privacy footprint Digido’s privacy notice describes collection of identity, financial, biometric, device, app, location and other data. Read permissions and privacy terms before sharing data.
Contact-list protection Philippine privacy rules prohibit disproportionate contact-list processing and contacting unrelated people for debt collection. A borrower’s entire phonebook is not an unrestricted collection tool.

Is UnaCash legitimate and properly authorized in the Philippines in 2026?

It is no longer accurate to describe the historical Digido-operated UnaCash as currently licensed merely because old pages show SEC Registration No. CS202003056 and Certificate of Authority No. 1272. The SEC revoked Digido’s registration and financing license and subsequently ordered it to cease financing operations.

Older UnaCash reviews still circulating online commonly describe Digido Finance Corp. as an SEC-authorized financing company. That description was once supported by official SEC records: Digido appeared as a financing company with CA No. 1272, and UnaCash was recorded as one of its online lending platforms.

But regulatory status is time-sensitive.

The SEC’s May 9, 2025 order revoked both Digido Finance’s certificate of incorporation and its Certificate of Authority. Reports based on the SEC action state that the regulator found that Digido had operated four locations without obtaining the required branch authority. Digido disputed that characterization, saying the locations were temporary exhibition booths rather than unauthorized branches.

The situation escalated in 2026. An SEC order dated February 18 directed Digido to permanently halt financing activities and imposed an administrative fine totaling ₱600,000. According to the SEC findings reported by BusinessWorld, the regulator concluded that Digido had continued processing applications, approving loans, disbursing proceeds and maintaining loan accounts after the May 2025 revocation.

Digido subsequently said it had appealed and suspended relevant operations. That is an important part of the record, but an appeal is not the same thing as a publicly documented restoration of its financing authority.

Why old SEC numbers can mislead borrowers

An SEC registration number or historical Certificate of Authority should always be checked against the lender’s current status.

A financing company needs authority to conduct financing business; merely finding an old certificate number on a review website, archived app listing or privacy page does not establish that the authority remains active. The SEC itself distinguishes ordinary corporate existence from authority to conduct regulated financing activities.

This is particularly important for UnaCash because many search results written before the regulatory action still repeat the old credentials without mentioning their subsequent revocation.

Is the UnaCash app currently in the App Store the same UnaCash?

The current Philippine App Store listing I found should not automatically be treated as the historical Digido-operated UnaCash. Apple identifies its provider as WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC., whereas the former UnaCash product identified Digido Finance Corp. as its operator.

The current iPhone listing advertises loans from ₱3,500 to ₱84,000, repayment periods of 91 to 120 days, an advertised 18% APR, and a decision within one business day. It gives WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC. as the provider and uses a Worldgem domain and Manila address.

That address corresponds with BSP directory information identifying WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC. as a pawnshop supervised entity.

What I could not independently establish from the sources reviewed is that this new Apple listing is the successor to, affiliated with, or authorized to represent the former Digido UnaCash platform.

That distinction matters because borrowers should never transfer regulatory credentials from one legal entity to another just because the app name is similar.

Before applying through any app branded “UnaCash” or “Unacash,” check the loan contract for the exact corporate lender, its registration details, applicable authority, official contact information, and online lending platform status.

How much could you historically borrow from UnaCash?

The last accessible Digido UnaCash Google Play disclosure advertised product loans up to ₱50,000, while its “new loans” section listed ₱3,000 – ₱10,000 with five- to six-month terms. These figures should now be treated as historical rather than current borrowing limits.

The archived listing also advertised shopping loans for gadgets, appliances and furniture, rates “as low as 0%,” and repayment periods of up to 12 months for some product loans.

There is an important inconsistency within that disclosure.

The same page that listed ₱3,000 – ₱10,000 as the range for new loans used ₱13,000 in its repayment example. That means a borrower should not rely on the headline range or illustrative calculator alone when evaluating an actual offer.

The Disclosure Statement issued for the specific loan is what matters.

What did a historical UnaCash loan really cost?

One archived UnaCash example showed a ₱13,000 principal repaid through six installments of ₱2,812. That produces total payments of ₱16,872 and a disclosed interest charge of ₱3,872 – about 29.8% of the principal over the stated 180-day period.

The peso calculation is straightforward:

Item Historical example
Principal used in example ₱13,000
Installment ₱2,812
Number of installments 6
Total repayment ₱16,872
Total interest disclosed ₱3,872
Cost as % of principal about 29.8%
Approximate simple annualized rate using the listing’s stated methodology about 60.4%

This demonstrates why a borrower should focus on total repayment in pesos, not only a monthly or promotional rate.

There is another limitation: the archived disclosure did not establish that every approved borrower would receive the entire nominal loan amount without deductions. If a processing or service fee is deducted before disbursement, the real cost relative to cash received becomes higher.

For example, borrowing “₱10,000” is economically different if ₱10,000 reaches your wallet versus only ₱9,000 reaching your wallet while repayment is calculated on ₱10,000.

No current Digido-operated UnaCash Disclosure Statement was available for us to verify a 2026 fee schedule, so it would be unsafe to invent one.

Do Philippine interest-rate caps apply to every UnaCash-type loan?

No. The special BSP/SEC caps do not apply to every consumer loan. The rules cover unsecured, general-purpose loans of not more than ₱10,000 with a tenor of up to four months, provided the other regulatory conditions are satisfied.

For covered loans, SEC Memorandum Circular No. 3, Series of 2022 implemented ceilings including a 6% monthly nominal-interest cap, a 15% monthly effective-interest cap including applicable fees, a 5% monthly late-payment penalty cap on the scheduled amount due, and a total cost cap of 100% of the amount borrowed.

The scope limitation is essential.

The old UnaCash Google Play listing described new-loan terms of five to six months. A loan with that tenor would not meet the “up to four months” criterion for the special cap even if its amount were below ₱10,000.

As of September 2026, the SEC website still references the 2022 framework and also shows that a recalibration proposal was circulated for comment in late 2025; I did not find a final replacement rule in the sources accessed.

How fast was UnaCash approval and disbursement?

Historical UnaCash marketing claimed approval “within minutes,” but that was an advertised claim rather than a guaranteed processing time. It should not be treated as a current 2026 service commitment following Digido’s regulatory shutdown.

An advertised approval time also does not necessarily equal the time when usable money reaches a borrower.

Identity verification, credit evaluation, mismatched personal information, payment-system availability and bank or e-wallet processing can create separate delays. The lender’s public materials did not disclose its complete proprietary underwriting model.

The newer Worldgem-provided iPhone app uses a different claim: approval results within one business day. Because it is listed under a different provider, that claim should not be combined with Digido’s former UnaCash processing information.

What personal data did the historical UnaCash ecosystem collect?

Digido’s privacy notice describes a broad data footprint that can include identity and contact information, financial records, biometric information, device identifiers, installed-app information, geolocation, telecommunications data and information relating to references or guarantors.

The policy is much more detailed than the short app-store summary.

Among other categories, it refers to government IDs, photographs and biometric data, employment information, financial records, device and SIM information, app usage, types of installed applications, social-media information, geolocation and certain phone metadata. It also describes using outside providers for identity verification, fraud prevention, credit scoring and risk assessment.

The historical Google Play Data Safety disclosure separately stated that the app could collect a phone number, app activity, installed-app information and device identifiers, with some information used for analytics, fraud prevention, security and compliance.

Digido’s privacy notice also stated a general five-year retention period after relevant processing has ended, subject to legal, regulatory, claims-related and other permitted reasons for longer retention.

That does not mean every listed data category was collected from every applicant, but borrowers should understand the breadth of information the policy contemplated.

Can an online lender contact people in your phone?

Philippine privacy rules do not give lenders unrestricted authority to use a borrower’s contact list for debt collection. A March 2026 joint government advisory states that excessive contact-list processing is prohibited and that persons other than a borrower’s guarantor must not be contacted for collection purposes.

The National Privacy Commission has repeatedly emphasized proportionality and legitimate purpose in loan-related data processing.

A character reference is also not automatically a guarantor. NPC guidance distinguishes someone whose details are supplied for verification from a person who has expressly undertaken responsibility for another borrower’s obligation.

This is especially important when an app requests phone, contact, photo, location or device permissions. Permission appearing on a smartphone screen does not eliminate the lender’s obligations under Philippine privacy law.

What happens if an UnaCash borrower pays late?

A borrower should not assume that Digido’s regulatory problems erase an existing debt, but neither should they send money to an unverified collector or account. Existing borrowers should confirm the creditor, balance and payment channel using documentary records and current official contacts.

The SEC’s 2026 findings stated that Digido had been servicing and collecting payments through Fingertip Finance Corp. after the revocation, and the regulator considered those servicing arrangements part of the continued financing operations it examined.

That makes payment verification unusually important for former UnaCash customers.

The sources reviewed do not establish that outstanding borrower obligations were automatically cancelled. They also do not provide a current UnaCash-specific late-fee schedule that can safely be quoted for 2026.

For loans falling within the specific scope of SEC MC No. 3, the regulatory late-payment penalty ceiling is 5% per month of the outstanding scheduled amount due, with the broader total-cost cap described earlier. Loans outside that narrow scope require analysis of the actual contract and other applicable law.

What are borrowers saying about Digido and UnaCash?

Recent anecdotal reports should be treated cautiously. Some 2025 borrowers posting online described repeated calls and text messages after becoming overdue, but anonymous borrower comments do not prove that every customer experienced the same treatment or that every allegation is accurate.

This review found a stronger basis for caution in the regulatory record than in anonymous review scores.

The former Google Play listing is no longer accessible through its direct page – the page returned a 404 during this review – so an up-to-date official-store review sample for the Digido UnaCash app could not be established. Older search-indexed information showed more than 100,000 downloads, but it should not be interpreted as evidence that the historical app remains available or authorized today.

The new Apple app under WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC. does not yet have enough ratings for Apple to display an overview, further limiting useful borrower-feedback analysis.

What are the main advantages and disadvantages of UnaCash in 2026?

The historical product had documented digital application, installment and merchant-financing features, but its former operator’s revoked financing authority is now the dominant issue. A separate app using the UnaCash name creates an additional identity-verification risk for consumers.

Potentially useful characteristic Material limitation
Historical UnaCash disclosed installment structures and merchant financing. Those historical terms should not be presented as a current Digido offer.
Digido published detailed privacy documentation. The policy describes extensive categories of personal and device data.
Historical regulatory details were publicly identifiable. The underlying financing authority was subsequently revoked.
A new “Unacash” app is available on iOS. It is listed under WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC., not Digido Finance Corp.; affiliation with the former platform was not established in this review.
Philippine rules provide privacy and collection protections. Borrowers still need to document violations and use the appropriate complaint channel.

What should you verify before accepting any UnaCash-branded loan?

Do not rely on the logo, app name, an old SEC number or an app-store ranking. Verify the legal lender named in the actual loan documents, its current authority, the money you will receive, the total amount you must repay, the due dates and the data permissions requested.

A practical pre-acceptance check looks like this:

Check What you should be able to establish
Legal lender Exact corporate name – not merely “UnaCash”
Regulatory authority Current Certificate of Authority appropriate to the lending/financing activity
Platform identity Confirmation that the app or website belongs to that legal lender
Principal Amount on which interest and fees are calculated
Net proceeds Actual pesos that will reach you
Total repayment Sum of all installments, interest and mandatory fees
Late-payment terms Exact contractual penalty and how it is calculated
Payment recipient Corporate account/payment channel matching the legitimate creditor or authorized servicer
Privacy permissions Why the app needs each permission and whether it can be revoked
Complaint contacts Working lender, SEC and privacy complaint channels

If any of those items cannot be established before accepting the offer, that uncertainty is itself decision-relevant.

FAQ

Does UnaCash still have SEC Certificate of Authority No. 1272?

Certificate of Authority No. 1272 was historically issued to Digido Finance Corp. The SEC revoked Digido’s financing authority and corporate registration in May 2025 and ordered it to permanently halt financing operations in February 2026. Digido appealed, but I found no later public evidence through September 18, 2026 showing CA No. 1272 had been restored.

Is the new UnaCash iPhone app operated by Digido?

The current App Store listing examined for this review names WORLDGEM PAWNSHOP INC. as the provider, not Digido Finance Corp. The sources reviewed did not establish that Worldgem is a successor to or affiliate of Digido’s former UnaCash service.

Can I rely on old UnaCash reviews showing SEC registration?

No. Those reviews may accurately describe UnaCash’s historical status while still being obsolete today. Lending authority needs to be checked against the latest regulatory record.

If I already have an old UnaCash loan, can I simply stop paying?

The sources reviewed do not establish that Digido’s regulatory revocation automatically cancelled existing contractual debts. Verify the exact balance, creditor and authorized payment channel before transferring money, and retain copies of receipts, contracts and collection communications.

Where can I complain about misuse of my contacts or personal data?

The National Privacy Commission handles data-privacy concerns. Its 2026 joint advisory reiterates that lenders may not engage in excessive contact-list processing or contact unrelated persons in a borrower’s phonebook for debt collection.

UnaCash Review 2026: The borrower decision framework

UnaCash is a good example of why a loan-app review cannot stop at interest rates and application speed.

The historical platform had a clearly identifiable operator, published loan examples and a documented SEC authorization. But that regulatory position later changed: Digido Finance Corp.’s corporate registration and financing authority were revoked, and the SEC subsequently ordered the company to cease financing operations.

At the same time, a new iPhone app is now using the Unacash name under a different provider.

For a Filipino borrower in 2026, the sensible sequence is therefore identity first, price second.

Confirm who will legally lend you the money. Verify that entity’s current authority. Read the Disclosure Statement. Compare the approved principal with the amount actually reaching your account. Add every installment to determine total repayment. Check what happens after a missed due date. Review what the app wants to collect from your phone.

Most importantly, do not rely on an old UnaCash review that simply repeats “SEC Registration No. CS202003056, CA No. 1272” without explaining what happened in 2025 and 2026.

This review was prepared from the supplied UnaCash review scope and then checked against regulatory, product, privacy, app-store and recent reporting sources available as of September 18, 2026.
